ringing in the new year
happy new year everyone. so far i’ve spent the new year’s eve day with a best friend who is my soul mate in every way, laughing over coffee and enjoying good food and a fantastic film together, then heading off to work a job I am very lucky to have with some new friends who always make me laugh.
Things have been tough in 2010 though. I’m not comfortable with myself anymore, and there’s too much self loathing. I thought I found someone amazing who I could see myself with, but it faded away into a mass of confusion. And an organization that I couldn’t see myself without suddenly began treating me like shit. But I’ve got a lot of possibilities for the future, some amazing friends who for some reason really care about me, and a new point of view that’s helped a lot.
So here’s to having a little bit of money in the bank, a cold glass of wine, and friends who really care. Here’s to a year that can only get better, burning candles after midnight, new and old fluffy babies, and finding that traveling really does make everything better and brighter.
Here’s to 2011. Hope it brings everyone everything they’re looking for and more.
