since it’s almost halloween…

i’ve been doing a lot of posts that are just schoolwork latley.  so i decided to post something kinda for me and cooler.  :)

I haven’t really watched a lot of halloween movies yet— I know, I’m behind— but now that I’m home for a bit, I’ve started watching this show called Ghost Adventures…. not bad.  The one on right now visits the Stanley Hotel, where Stephen King wrote the Shining, and while I think these ghost shows are usually a pile of crap (here’s looking at you, Paranormal State— Ryan Buell, you’re a douchebag), this ones kind of cool.

It kind of got me thinking— I used to not really believe all this stuff, and I still am kind of on the fence… I think it’d be cool if it was real, but at the same time I don’t want to find out firsthand, you know?

Anywho, I forgot that I actually HAVE had some weird ghost type stuff happen to me.  The first isn’t so surprising:  the sealed off Fourth Floor of Tillman Hall is kind of known for being haunted.  Was taken up there to explore last year by my friend who is on the faculty (She shall remain unnamed), and it was extremely creepy… we saw the cage where the footsteps are that won’t dissapear.  But the creepiest part was when we were trying to come down the stairs off the roof.  She went on ahead to grab something from her office, and when we came to the stairs she was hovering at the top.  When we asked her what was wrong, she said she heard something and didn’t want to go down alone. “Why?” we asked.  ”Because I think something is up here,” she said.  DIP.  that was a pretty scary moment— I thought she was just messing with us, but nope, she was serious.  By the time we finally felt safe enough to leave the fourth floor, we stepped back into her office on the third floor only to find a door (that had been closed and locked when we went up) was wide open.  AND NOONE WAS IN THE BUILDING THAT NIGHT.

Kinda spooky.  But my second ghosty experience is what kind of made me a believer… and scared.  Mostly scared.

This one happened in Charleston (also cliche because of its haunted history, but I can’t help where these things happen!)

My sister graduated from Charleston a couple years ago, and she lived in one of the historic houses the university keeps on hand for students.  i went to stay with her a couple of days before her graduation, just to hang out.  The first night, I went to take a shower— the shower was right across the hall from her room, shared by everyone on the floor— and I was alone in there.  (It’s kind of hard to miss when someone comes in, the door is unbelievably loud)

While I was shampooing, I felt something really cold, like the shower curtain had been pushed aside for a second.  Then I felt someone kind of shove me with their hand.  I jumped, yelling at my sister for being such a jerk and scaring me.  But….. noone was in the frickin’ bathroom.  I FREAKED OUT.  The touch felt exactly like someone reaching through the shower curtain just to freak me out, and it WORKED… cause noone was there.  Nooone had come in.  Noone was there.  I still didn’t really think anything of it— my sister can be kind of mean, so I assumed it was her trying to scare me.  I dried off and went back to her room, and kind of yelled at her for shoving me in the bathroom.  And guess what?  First, she said she wasn’t even in there— second:  she said that that had happened to her before too.  OH MY GAH. That was all I could think.  She as so casual about it too: just all, “oh yeah, that kind of things happens here a lot, I just try not to think about it.”

WHAT THE HELL ASHLEY.  WHAT THE HELL.

Turns out, the historic houses were supposedly where they housed the soldiers in the war that were wounded to the point where there’s kind of no hope.. as in they DIED there.

So that’s my ghosty experiences.  I didn’t think I had experienced anything up until now, but damn, now I’ve freaked myself out— this crap really happened.

Well, happy halloween.  i’m going to go sleep with the light on now.  freaked myself out remembering now.
